GRADUATE PROGRAM of HYDROLOGIC SCIENCES

Yu (Frank) Yang

Assistant Professor

Civil and Environmental Engineering

Academic & Research Interest

I am mainly interested in the geochemistry of molecular-level uncharacterized natural organic matter (NOM) and the impact of NOM on the environmental fate of critical pollutants under the framework of global climate change. Immediately, my group’s efforts will be focused on investigating the stabilization of NOM by minerals and the role of NOM in the redox reactions for metals and organohalides.

Areas of Study

Biogeochemical cycles,   Carbon dating,   Climate change,   Contaminant transport,   Geochemistry,   Soil chemistry,   Water quality,
