GRADUATE PROGRAM of HYDROLOGIC SCIENCES

Academic & Research Interest

Research Areas:

Low-temperature, aqueous geochemistry/environmental geochemistry. On-going research in arsenic distribution and cycling in mining and geothermal systems, and identification of oxidation rates and mechanisms for sulfide minerals. My research involves quantification of geochemical processes in natural settings using with laboratory experiments and geochemical modeling methods. Additional interest in carbonate and clastic diagenesis, particularly as diagenesis relates to energy resource exploration.

Relevant Past Experience:

Employed as a petroleum geologist for Amoco Corporation and RPI, International. Worked in operations, development, and exploration in the Mid-continent and Rocky Mountain regions including Kansas, Oklahoma, Colorado and Wyoming. Conducted regional studies on the Ordovician Simpson Group in the Anadarko and Ardmore basins and the Ordovician Red River Formation of the Williston Basin. Faculty member in the Graduate Program for Hydrologic Sciences at the University of Nevada, Reno. Principal investigator on research projects with the Great Basin Center for Geothermal Energy at UNR.
