Academic & Research Interest

Dr. Parashar's research interest is in the area of mathematical characterization and numerical modeling of anomalous dispersion at pore-scale and computation of flow and transport in fractured geologic systems.  He is specifically interested in developing techniques ased on the concepts of Levy motion and fractional advection-dispersion equation to analyze and predict the transport behavior of motlie microbes.  On the fractured media end, his recent work involves the characterization of two and three dimensional fracture sets and development of efficient algorithms to simulate transport in networks of discrete fractures.
