GRADUATE PROGRAM of HYDROLOGIC SCIENCES

Hal Voepel

Doctor of Philosophy Degree
Class of 2013

Academic & Research Interest

My research topic is to improve our understanding of the development, evolution and destruction of bedform microstructures known as clusters in gravel-bed rivers through numerical methods. Of particular interest is their role in enhancing channel stability. My interests are in river systems modeling to study river and riparian processes including their feedback mechanisms in an effort to understand river system stability and riparian self-organization.

Areas of Interests

3-D numerical modeling,   Geomorphology,   Numerical methods,   Sediment transport,   Stochastic processes,
